The exhibit displays the meaning of Thanksgiving among children of different cultures, with works grouped in different age categories: Under 5 years, 5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-14 years, and 15-18 years.
“We all have something to be thankful for...” says EADFW President Nadya Tatsch. “And this exhibit helps to show that the concept of Thanksgiving is shared among different cultures. “I Am Thankful For…” is a wonderful opportunity for children, young adults, and families from all cultures to teach and express their gratitude and thankfulness through art.”
A number of works were entered from a special workshop held on October 16 in the partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art, which offers a unique opportunity for children to take the “I Am Thankful For…” art class. Under the supervision of professional artists, children of all ages discussed the topic of gratitude and portrayed their vision of thankfulness on canvas.
This year the project is expending tremendously! Many international organizations have joined. Among the participants are German School of Dallas, Jan Karski Polish School of Dallas, Star Mountain Art, Art Wheel Studio, and River of Life - Dallas Church as well as organizations from Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan.
